Senior Laboratory Technician in project CLEAN-CM
IMDEA Water is a non-profit research Institute, promoted by the Regional Government of Madrid, to carry out research in water technologies. This Institute is part of the IMDEA network, the institutional framework that combines support from both the public and private sectors and harmonizes research with market demand, strengthening the presence of the private sector in science.
It complies with the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.
The European Social Fund will co-finance partly the contracts formalized from this call within the Thematic Objective 10 "Investing in education, training and vocational training for skills and lifelong learning" |
This call is to hire a senior laboratory technician to support project CLEAN-CM “Control and elimination of chemical and biological risks in water cycle” (REACT-UE resources of the Madrid Operational Program 2014-2020, in the line of action of R&D projects in response to COVID 19) with the aim of identifying and quantifying contaminants of emerging concern (CECs) in different water matrices: wastewater, reclaimed water and groundwater.
Project funded by Comunidad de Madrid and the European Regional Development Fund by the European Union “A way of making Europe.” Funded as part of the Union's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The main tasks include:
- Development of analytical methodologies to carry out the identification and quantification of CECs in water samples and other environmental matrices (soils, plants, biota) by using Liquid Chromatography coupled to High Resolution and Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometry (LC-HRMS and LC-MS/MS): Optimization of chromatographic separations, instrumental parameters (ionization conditions, MRM transitions) and sample treatments.
- Data processing (study of MS/MS spectra and identification of compounds using exact mass libraries). Use of software: Sciex and MassHunter by Agilent.
- Validation of the analysis methods.
- Design of workflows of analytical development and reports on the discussion of results.
- Control and maintenance of instrumental equipment used in developed methods.
- Literature search and processing of scientific information (ISI Web of Science, Scifinder, Scopus).
