The European Social Fund will co-finance partly the contracts formalized from this call within the Thematic Objective 10 "Investing in education, training and vocational training for skills and lifelong learning".

 

 

This call is for hiring a Research Assistant to support in project “Preparation of ion exchange membranes and their validation through electrochemical systems for the recovery of valuable compounds from wastewater with high salinity content”.

The work to be performed will be focused on research on:

  • Preparation of ion exchange membranes at laboratory scale.
  • Validation of ion exchange membranes by electrochemical systems for recovery of valuable compounds from wastewater.
  • Electrochemical characterization of the ion exchange membranes.
  • Data analysis.
  • Writing of scientific articles.
  • Participation in conferences and presentation of obtained results.
  • Participation in dissemination activities.

Candidates must present the following information:

  • Curriculum vitae in Spanish or English
  • Official academic transcripts (complete list of courses taken and grades) of Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees
  • English level title
  • List of publications
  • A cover letter (Spanish or English) presenting her/his candidacy and merits, and including her/his personal motivation to join the research team.
Requirements
  • M.Sc in Environmental Science or Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science with a Master, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering.  EQF Level 7 (MECES 3)
  • Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written).
  • Scientific papers.

  • Fitness of experience and expertise of the candidate to the open position.
    • Experience and participation in national and European research projects
    • Working experience with the use of electrochemical systems using membranes for water treatment
    • Electrochemical characterization of membranes
    • Experience in the preparation of ion exchange membranes
    • Commissioning of laboratory equipment
    • Experience in data analysis and reports writing in English

Conditions

Employment contract full-time: 37.5 hours/week

Annual gross salary: 20.000 - 23.000 €

Incorporation date: May 17th, 2021

Contract period: 1 year.
